Sherman Service League has the pleasure to work with Sherman High School and other Grayson County high schools through the Sisters of Service (SOS) organization as a placement opportunity.
SOS leads many community volunteer projects. A few projects include working at the Sherman Arts Festival; the Sherman Service League Charity Ball; the Boot Scootin’ Ball; the annual SOS turkey dinner drive; the annual SOS Valentine’s delivery program; Operation Warm Fuzzies; and helping the Sherman Education Foundation sell Major Saver cards. This is just to name a few of the wonderful things this group of young girls does each year.
This organization was started about 15 years ago by two Sherman Services League members, and now is a placement opportunity for active members. We have four sponsors within Sherman Service League that help with the SOS girls: Jennifer Taylor, Tania Belknap, Cara Christensen and Buffy Todd. It is a wonderful opportunity for our League to work with such fantastic girls that have a heart for service!
